In a major victory against digital crime, Jharkhand Police have arrested 971 individuals for involvement in 1,295 cybercrime cases throughout 2024. The operation is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to address the growing menace of cybercrimes, which include online fraud, hacking, identity theft, and other malicious activities. Alongside these arrests, authorities successfully seized a significant haul of assets, including Rs 8.17 crore in cash, 2,118 mobile phones, and 2,905 SIM cards.
A key tool in these arrests has been the development of the ‘Pratibimb’ app, an innovative technology that assists police in mapping out the activities of cybercriminals and efficiently tracking their movements. The app has proven to be instrumental in cracking down on the digital underworld and has aided law enforcement officers in their pursuit of justice. This initiative marks a significant leap forward in Jharkhand’s commitment to tackling cybercrime and protecting citizens in the digital age.
