On January 13, 2025, the Chessa Police Outpost officially transitioned from the jurisdiction of Balijan Circle to Papum Pare (Rural) Police. This administrative shift, driven by the growing demands for streamlined law enforcement, aims to enhance police response times and foster better public safety. The move also aligns with the broader goal of decentralizing police operations to ensure better oversight and service delivery in remote areas.

The transfer underscores the government’s commitment to improving administrative efficiency in Arunachal Pradesh. The new jurisdiction enables the Papum Pare (Rural) Police to work more closely with local communities in Chessa, addressing region-specific challenges such as crime prevention, road safety, and public awareness campaigns. By realigning resources and responsibilities, this change is expected to bring positive outcomes for both law enforcement and the public.
