Dr. Rashini Yengkhom, Superintendent of Police (CID, Crime Branch), has been appointed as the Nodal Officer for updating and monitoring acid attack cases in the MIS Portal of the National Commission for Women. This new initiative by the Meghalaya Police aims to ensure that cases related to acid attacks are tracked and updated in real-time, ensuring transparency and timely justice for the victims.

The establishment of this monitoring system emphasizes Meghalaya’s commitment to addressing gender-based violence. Dr. Yengkhom’s appointment is seen as an important step in streamlining the process of reporting and tracking acid attack cases.

The initiative is part of a larger effort to protect women’s rights and to ensure that justice is served swiftly, particularly in cases where victims face life-altering injuries. The move aligns with national efforts to combat acid attacks and provide greater support for victims.
