Manipur Police has appointed Dr. Rashini Yengkhom, MPS, Superintendent of Police for CID (Crime Branch), as the Nodal Officer responsible for acid attack cases in the state. This newly created position aims to streamline the reporting and monitoring process for acid attack cases in the MIS Portal of the National Commission for Women.

The appointment is a major step towards addressing the grave issue of acid attacks, which have been a rising concern in the state, particularly in areas with limited legal awareness.

As the Nodal Officer, Dr. Yengkhom will be responsible for ensuring that all acid attack cases are promptly updated in the portal, facilitating timely legal action, and coordinating with various agencies for the protection of victims.
