The Assam Police Special Task Force (STF), led by senior IPS officer Parth Sarathi Mahanta, has made significant strides in counter-terrorism operations. With over 250 successful operations, the STF has played a crucial role in disrupting terrorist activities, particularly in northeastern India.
One of the major successes involved uncovering Bangladesh-based terror groups like Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), which had established a foothold in the region. The STF’s operations have successfully neutralized several threats, capturing militants and foiling attacks planned by these groups.
The STF’s success is being attributed to its highly trained personnel, intelligence-sharing networks, and sophisticated technology used in tracking and apprehending suspected terrorists. Their efforts have helped to prevent large-scale terror incidents, ensuring greater security for civilians.
