In a significant move to combat drug abuse in Haryana, the Ambala Police, led by Superintendent Surinder Singh Bhoria, have recognized individuals who have contributed immensely to the anti-drug initiatives. This is part of the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan,’ a nationwide campaign to eradicate drug addiction in rural and urban areas. The efforts focus on engaging with village leaders to help in making their communities drug-free.
Two villages, Matheri Jatan and Behbalpur, were recently declared drug-free, marking a successful milestone in the region’s ongoing battle against narcotics. The police acknowledged the vital role played by local leaders, who have not only supported the anti-drug movement but have also actively participated in spreading awareness. The district plans to continue this initiative and expand its reach to other parts of Haryana, aiming to make it a model region for drug-free communities.
