On January 2, 2025, Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma inaugurated the “Walk for Drug-Free Mizoram” event in Aizawl, as part of the state’s ongoing efforts to tackle drug abuse and promote awareness around substance use. The initiative aims to engage the community and raise awareness about the devastating impact of drug abuse, encouraging a collective approach to creating a drug-free society. This event brought together hundreds of participants, including students, local leaders, and social workers, who walked together to show their support for the cause.
During his speech, CM Lalduhoma emphasized the importance of education, rehabilitation, and community-based programs to combat the growing drug problem in the state. He further assured that the government would continue its efforts to strengthen the legal and social framework in place for curbing drug-related activities.
