The Director General of Police (DGP) has proposed a new initiative aimed at enhancing road safety and traffic discipline by training NCC (National Cadet Corps) cadets in traffic management. The training will provide cadets with the skills and knowledge necessary to assist in managing traffic effectively during peak hours, festivals, and public events.

The DGP highlighted the importance of involving young people in promoting road safety awareness and discipline among the public. The cadets will be equipped to handle traffic control, educate pedestrians, and support law enforcement officers in maintaining order on the roads.

This proposal comes in the wake of the increasing need for effective traffic management in urban areas and aims to reduce traffic-related accidents by fostering a sense of responsibility and discipline in young citizens.
