Kerala Announces Key Promotions and Transfers in Police Force

On January 1, 2025, the Kerala government initiated significant reshuffles within the state police force, marking a key moment in strengthening its law enforcement and security apparatus. Among the most notable changes, Sparjan Kumar, previously the Commissioner of Thiruvananthapuram, has been appointed as the new Intelligence Inspector General (IG). In his new role, Kumar will also oversee Internal Security, an essential responsibility in maintaining peace and managing sensitive information related to threats.

Additionally, K. Sethuraman, known for his experience and leadership within the Kerala Police, has been appointed as the Director of the Police Academy. This position is crucial in shaping the future of law enforcement by training new recruits and maintaining the high standards of policing in the state. Rajpal Meena, another senior officer, has been appointed as the North Zone IG, further enhancing regional security and operational efficiency.
