In a recent operation, Puducherry Police successfully rescued a 17-year-old boy from Chennai, who had been reported missing. Investigations revealed that the teenager was taken to Puducherry by a 22-year-old woman, the sister of his tuition teacher.
The woman reportedly lured the boy under false pretenses. Upon receiving information about the boy’s location, the police launched a swift operation to ensure his safety and reunite him with his family. The woman has since been arrested under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The case highlights the critical role of vigilance and legal mechanisms in addressing offenses against minors. Officials emphasized the importance of prompt reporting of suspicious activities involving children and reassured the public of their commitment to child safety.
The rescued boy is currently undergoing counseling and support to recover from the ordeal.
