In a proactive move to ensure top-notch security for the 2028 Kumbh Mela in Ujjain, a high-level delegation from the Madhya Pradesh Police visited Prayagraj to study the security arrangements for the Maha Kumbh. The Madhya Pradesh team, which included senior police officers, observed firsthand the security measures and strategies employed by the Uttar Pradesh Police for managing one of the world’s largest religious gatherings.

The delegation’s goal was to gain valuable insights into crowd control, surveillance, traffic management, and overall law enforcement coordination during such massive events. The Maha Kumbh, held every 12 years in different locations, sees millions of pilgrims gather, making it a significant logistical and security challenge.

Learning from Uttar Pradesh’s experience, the Madhya Pradesh Police aims to implement similar measures for the 2028 Ujjain Kumbh, ensuring that it runs smoothly and safely. With the religious festival attracting millions of devotees, security is a major priority, and this visit demonstrates the Madhya Pradesh Police’s commitment to preventing any untoward incidents during the event.

Both states aim to enhance their preparedness for large-scale public events, drawing from each other’s successes and challenges. This collaboration between the two states sets a strong precedent for shared knowledge in securing high-profile events in India.
