New Delhi, December 28, 2024: As the nation prepares to bid farewell to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive advisory to manage vehicular movement during the state funeral scheduled tomorrow. The solemn event is expected to draw dignitaries, political leaders, and citizens from across the country.

To ensure smooth proceedings, traffic diversions will be in place in and around central Delhi. Roads leading to key venues, including the late Prime Minister’s residence, Rajpath, and the cremation site at Raj Ghat, will be temporarily closed or restricted. Commuters are advised to avoid these routes and plan alternative travel paths.

Parking will be restricted in the vicinity of Raj Ghat, with designated areas provided for official vehicles and invitees. The Delhi Metro will operate as usual, but some stations near the event venues may have restricted entry during specific hours. Passengers are encouraged to stay updated via the official Delhi Metro app.

In anticipation of large crowds, Delhi Police has ramped up security measures, including the deployment of additional personnel, installation of CCTV cameras, and drone surveillance. Barricades and checkpoints will also be established to manage the flow of vehicles and ensure public safety.

The Traffic Police has urged citizens to avoid non-essential travel in central Delhi, especially during the morning hours. Those attending the funeral are requested to cooperate with authorities and arrive early to avoid delays.

The advisory reflects Delhi’s commitment to maintaining order and honoring one of India’s most respected statesmen. The city is united in its resolve to ensure a dignified farewell for the late Prime Minister.
