Punjab Police have made a significant breakthrough by apprehending five individuals involved in operating an inter-state organized crime syndicate. They seized two pistols and eight live rounds during the operation. According to Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, the accused had sourced the firearms from Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh.
The suspects, now facing charges under the Arms Act and the newly instituted Section 111
BNS targeting organized crime syndicates, were allegedly planning to target a rival gang in Amritsar. This arrest underscores Punjab Police’s commitment, under the directive of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, to combat organized crime within the state. This development follows a recent crackdown on cross-border narcotics smuggling, where another individual was apprehended with 5 kg of heroin in Amritsar.
