Ahead of the Golconda Bonalu festival, City Police Commissioner Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy announced robust security measures, particularly focusing on women’s safety. He spoke at a coordination meeting with officials from various departments after inspecting Golconda Fort and its surroundings.
The municipal department was instructed to manage waste effectively, and RTC drivers were directed to park buses in designated areas. To combat pickpocketing and chain snatching, CCTV cameras will be installed at strategic locations, and special surveillance teams will be deployed in high-traffic areas. Additionally, special SHE teams will be present to address any incidents of harassment.
The festival, drawing women from remote villages, necessitates these enhanced security measures to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
