In Uttar Pradesh, the police have arrested six ‘sevadars’, including two women, in connection with the Hathras stampede that claimed 121 lives on Tuesday. The main accused, Prakash Madhukar, remains at large, with authorities offering a Rs 1 lakh reward for his arrest and planning to issue a non-bailable warrant against him. The arrests were announced by Inspector General of Police (Aligarh Range) Shalabh Mathur, who noted that the sevadars had fled during the stampede at a satsang organized by self-styled godman ‘Bhole Baba’. A search at Ram Kutir Charitable Trust in Mainpuri aimed to locate ‘Bhole Baba’, named in the ongoing investigation.
