In a significant development, ten individuals have been arrested in connection with a daring robbery at the residence of PWD contractor Padmanabha Kotyan in Ulaibettu, under Mangalore Rural Police Station’s jurisdiction. City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal announced the arrests on Thursday, identifying the suspects including Vasantakumar (42) and Ramesh (42) from Neeramarga, and Balakrishna Raymond D’Souza (47) from Bantwala. Others apprehended are Zakir Hussain (56), Vinoj (38), Sajeesh MM (32), Satish Babu (44) from Thrissur, Biju G (41) from Thiruvananthapuram, and Shijo Devasi (38), with seven from Kerala.
The robbers, wearing masks, forcibly entered Kotyan’s home on June 21, assaulting him and terrorizing his family. They stole cash and jewellery worth Rs 9 lakh, fleeing in Kotyan’s vehicle before abandoning it nearby.
