Police Shut Down Escobar, Arrest Two Bouncers After Assault on Student

In a recent incident at Escobar, a popular resto-bar in Bandra, Mumbai, two bouncers have been arrested by the Bandra police following an assault on a 20-year-old student. The altercation occurred on June 28, when the student, accompanied by friends, confronted a man who appeared hostile towards him at the bar. According to reports, the situation escalated when the man, accompanied by a bouncer named Vijay, allegedly struck the student with a blunt object, causing a serious eye injury. Mumbai PoliceSubsequently, the police intervened, closing down Escobar and filing charges against the bouncers and the bar manager under IPC sections 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons) and 34 (common intention). The victim, a resident of Thane, was reportedly visiting Escobar with friends when the incident unfolded around midnight.
