The Nagaland Police received a major boost with a new fleet and technology upgrades, enhancing their law enforcement capabilities. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, and other officials flagged off 35 Boleros, 100 bikes, and two Mobile Forensic Investigation Vans at the Chümoukidema Police Complex.

Rio highlighted the economic growth in urban areas like Dimapur, which has seen a rise in crime, including extortion and illegal taxation. He emphasized the importance of these new vehicles in addressing security challenges, particularly in Dimapur, due to its proximity to the Assam border.

The chief minister praised the police for their commitment, especially in combating drug trafficking and arms smuggling. The new forensic vans will expedite on-site investigations. Rio urged public cooperation with the police to maintain law and order and stressed the importance of transparency and trust in effective policing.
