Goa Police have apprehended two men from Karnataka for allegedly deceiving job seekers with promises of lucrative employment abroad, only to ensnare them in fraudulent activities. Nashir Ahamad Tigadi from Belagavi and Mohammad Haji from Vijapura were arrested following complaints that their Mumbai-based recruitment agency misled individuals with enticing job offers, promising salaries as high as ₹1 lakh per month.

Victims were dispatched to Cambodia and Thailand under false pretenses, where they were coerced into illegal operations, including cryptocurrency scams and call center fraud. Goa Police, led by Superintendent of Police (Crime) Rahul Gupta, seized mobile phones containing crucial evidence and are intensifying efforts to dismantle the illicit network. They’ve also issued warnings to families and cyber criminals involved in these schemes across Southeast Asia, urging compliance with legal proceedings.
