The Naganahalli Police Training Centre recently hosted the passing out parade for the 12th batch of Police Sub-Inspector (Civil) and ninth batch of Reserve Sub-Inspector trainees. Addressing police personnel after the event, Additional Director-General of Police for Traffic and Road Safety, Alok Kumar, expressed serious concern over the increasing number of in-service deaths within the police force.
This worrying trend has prompted the department to reassess safety protocols and support systems for officers. The parade, held on the outskirts of Kalaburagi, marked a significant moment as new recruits prepared to join the frontline of law enforcement amid heightened awareness of these challenges.
