Bengaluru Police Crack Down on High-Beam Headlights: Over 1500 Cases Registered

In response to numerous complaints regarding high-beam headlights at night, Bengaluru traffic police have initiated a crackdown on offenders inconveniencing fellow commuters. Karnataka police have reported a total of 1518 cases filed against individuals using glaring or dazzling LED headlights, in violation of Central Motor Vehicle Rules.

Alok Kumar, Karnataka’s additional director general for traffic and road safety, acknowledged the effort, noting Bengaluru alone accounts for 686 cases, with Mangaluru recording 98 and Karwar 131; Udupi reported no cases. Emphasizing ongoing enforcement, Bengaluru police reiterated their commitment to enforcing traffic rules and educating motorists about compliance. They warned of continued operations to curb the use of high beams, ensuring road safety remains a top priority.
