Meghalaya Police have apprehended another suspect linked to the Beldongpara robbery case, where four armed individuals intercepted and robbed victims at gunpoint near Beldongpara village, Assam’s Goalpara, on June 18, 2024.
The arrest of Sahadev Basumatary occurred on July 1 at the Assam-Meghalaya border near Tikrikilla, West Garo Hills. This follows the surrender of another suspect, Turti Basumatary, to North Garo Hills Police. Sahadev Basumatary was found in possession of a semi-automatic pistol with two live rounds.
The miscreants, riding an Aprilia Scooty (AS18J-0181) and a black Bajaj Pulsar 220 (registration no. AS18 E-7925), looted Rs 80,000 in cash, personal documents, and two mobile phones with SIM cards during the incident
