In a tragic incident, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sanjeev of the Haryana Police was shot dead by two bike-borne assailants outside his home in Karnal. The incident occurred late Tuesday night while Sanjeev, who had recently undergone surgery, was on his evening walk. According to an India Today report, two bullets were fired, one striking him in the head and the other in the waist. The assailants fled the scene immediately.
Several police teams arrived promptly, and Sanjeev was rushed to a private hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The police have launched an investigation, including reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the attackers. The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) mentioned that Sanjeev’s body is at the KCGMC morgue, with an autopsy scheduled for Wednesday.
