Operation Muskaan-X: Cyberabad Police’s Initiative to Rescue Missing Children

The Cyberabad Police have initiated ‘Operation Muskaan-X’ from July 1 to 31 to trace and rescue missing children. The operation, led by the Cyberabad Women & Children Safety Wing (W&CSW) DCP K. Srujana, will utilize the ‘Darpan’ facial recognition software to identify missing children.

In a convergence meeting, senior officials announced that 11 teams have been formed, each comprising a sub-inspector and four constables, including one woman constable, to identify, rescue, and rehabilitate children involved in begging, rag-picking, child labour, and trafficking. Stakeholder departments have been urged to cooperate and coordinate with the teams.

 

Inspector B. James Babu from the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) highlighted that based on previous case data, hotspots have been identified where children are forced into labour. The coordinated efforts aim to rescue and rehabilitate these children effectively.
